Most Popular Comedy TV Shows — SeasonTracker Tracking Data August 2026
Ted Lasso is being tracked by 308 SeasonTracker users, the highest count of any comedy on the platform for the week of August 24, 2026. That puts it 54 trackers ahead of the second placed title, The White Lotus, and gives it a clear margin at the top of a category that is otherwise tightly packed.
The ranking is drawn from 1,498 SeasonTracker users who are actively tracking at least one show, across 5,882 unique titles. Here is how the comedy category ranks by tracker count:
1. Ted Lasso (Apple TV) - 308 trackers 2. The White Lotus (HBO) - 254 trackers 3. Shrinking (Apple TV) - 246 trackers 4. Wednesday (Netflix) - 184 trackers 5. The Bear (Hulu) - 174 trackers 6. Your Friends & Neighbors (Apple TV) - 171 trackers 7. Only Murders in the Building (Hulu) - 164 trackers 8. The Rookie (ABC) - 116 trackers 9. Emily in Paris (Netflix) - 108 trackers 10. The Studio (Apple TV) - 105 trackers 11. Bad Monkey (Apple TV) - 103 trackers 12. Rooster (HBO) - 91 trackers 13. Widow's Bay (Apple TV) - 89 trackers 14. Stick (Apple TV) - 85 trackers 15. Murderbot (Apple TV) - 82 trackers
Week-over-week movement is modest across most of the list, which is typical for established titles between seasons. The exception is Ted Lasso, which added 11 trackers over the past seven days, more than the other 14 shows on this list combined. Wednesday added 3 and Bad Monkey added 2, while Shrinking, The Bear, Your Friends & Neighbors and Widow's Bay each added 1. Seven of the 15 titles were flat, including The White Lotus, Only Murders in the Building, The Rookie, Emily in Paris, The Studio, Rooster, Stick and Murderbot.
The most striking pattern in the data is platform concentration. Apple TV accounts for eight of the 15 most tracked comedies on SeasonTracker: Ted Lasso, Shrinking, Your Friends & Neighbors, The Studio, Bad Monkey, Widow's Bay, Stick and Murderbot. Those eight titles carry 1,189 trackers between them. HBO and Hulu each place two shows, Netflix places two, and ABC places one with The Rookie at 116 trackers.
Almost everything in the comedy category is a genre hybrid rather than a pure comedy. Only Rooster, at 91 trackers, is tagged with comedy alone. Every other entry on the list pairs comedy with drama, mystery, crime, or science fiction and fantasy. Nine of the 15 carry a drama tag, and four carry crime. That suggests SeasonTracker users who track comedy are largely tracking half hour and hour long hybrids rather than traditional sitcoms.
The Bear is the only title on the list marked as Ended, and it still holds fifth place with 174 trackers. Every other show in the top 15 is listed as a Returning Series, which means the tracking activity here reflects users waiting on confirmed future episodes rather than catching up on closed runs.
Month-over-month comparisons are not available for this report, since these titles do not yet have a four week baseline in the tracking data. Those figures will appear in future editions.
