Most Popular Sci-Fi TV Shows — SeasonTracker Tracking Data August 2026

August 17, 2026

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms sits at the top of SeasonTracker's sci-fi and fantasy rankings this week with 282 users tracking it, 13 more than second-placed Severance. The gap across the entire top five is just 47 trackers, making this one of the tightest leaderboards on the site.

The report covers the week of August 17, 2026, drawn from 1,420 SeasonTracker users who are actively tracking at least one show across 5,823 unique titles.

1. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (HBO) - 282 trackers 2. Severance (Apple TV) - 269 trackers 3. Fallout (Prime Video) - 261 trackers 4. House of the Dragon (HBO) - 240 trackers 5. Silo (Apple TV) - 235 trackers 6. Pluribus (Apple TV) - 214 trackers 7. Wednesday (Netflix) - 181 trackers 8. The Boys (Prime Video) - 144 trackers 9. Stranger Things (Netflix) - 129 trackers 10. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (Prime Video) - 116 trackers 11. Black Mirror (Channel 4) - 116 trackers 12. The Witcher (Netflix) - 104 trackers 13. For All Mankind (Apple TV) - 104 trackers 14. 3 Body Problem (Netflix) - 100 trackers 15. Foundation (Apple TV) - 97 trackers

Most of the week-over-week movement is minimal, with single-position shuffles across the top of the list. The one genuine mover is Silo, up three places to fifth. That is the largest weekly climb anywhere in the top 15 and the only change larger than two positions. House of the Dragon posted the largest drop, down two spots to fourth, though its 240 trackers still keep it comfortably inside the leading group.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms gained a position to take the top spot, pushing Severance and Fallout down one each. Below that, SeasonTracker users held steady: Wednesday, Stranger Things, The Rings of Power, For All Mankind, 3 Body Problem and Foundation all finished the week unchanged in rank.

Apple TV is the most represented network on the list, with five entries: Severance, Silo, Pluribus, For All Mankind and Foundation. Those five account for 919 trackers combined. Prime Video and Netflix each place three shows, while HBO places two, both inside the top four and together accounting for 522 trackers. That concentration means roughly a third of tracking activity in this genre on SeasonTracker is split between just two networks.

Two shows in the top 10 are already marked as Ended. The Boys sits eighth with 144 trackers and Stranger Things ninth with 129, indicating that SeasonTracker users continue to log completed runs rather than dropping them once a series wraps. The remaining 13 titles are all classified as Returning Series.

There is also a visible drop-off after seventh place. Wednesday holds 181 trackers, but the next entry, The Boys, sits 37 behind. From there the counts decline steadily to Foundation's 97, meaning the bottom of the top 15 carries roughly a third of the tracking volume of the leader. The Rings of Power and Black Mirror are tied at 116 trackers apiece, as are The Witcher and For All Mankind at 104.

These rankings shift week to week. Add the shows you are watching to SeasonTracker to keep your own episode progress up to date and to help shape next week's tracking data.
